We're just more than a week away from our Fall 2016 release and we want to give you a sneak peek into what we're working on.
- Support for ETL
- Products REST API
- Enterprise Search
- Other improvements and OOTB support
We are continuing our work on the OOTB support for video and this release we are also adding OOTB support for the video content type. Videos will have more specific functional support including an improved preview and detail view of a video. There will also be video metadata fields OOTB and pre-configured to be populated with metadata from the file.
Support for ETL
We’ll be introducing support for bulk uploading of data into the ADAM system on asset and product level. Also, we’ll be releasing a process template for Pentaho to help you either get started on Pentaho (if that is the ETL you use) or use it as an example on how to work with your own ETL systems.
Products REST API
As communicated previously, we are continuously working on the REST API for ADAM, adding new functionality and ensuring that all supported functionality is accessible through it. In this release we will be adding the Products REST API that is targeting integration scenarios. Easily connect ADAM Products to PIM, ERP and other systems using our enhanced REST API.
We have made it possible to set fields to only allow unique values.
This was done for performance reasons and has an effect on consistency. With the introduction of Enterprise search in ADAM 5.5 we also moved over to a “eventually consistent” philosophy, which improves the scalability of the system. In order to ensure that content is available to users when they need it and in an enterprise scaling way, loading of data from ADAM will now be strongly consistent while searching will be eventually consistent.
Other Improvements and OOTB Support updates
We have changed our Image SDK which brings improvements for image processing, including:
- Support for color management conversion which allows users to change color profile while resizing. This allows our customers to provide, for example, “Download for Print” for different profiles for instance – for the US vs for Europe. -
- Download for print will now be available OOTB as well.
- Improved generation of preview with transparency
- Improved algorithms for adding watermarks
This wasn't even everything!! Keep an eye out for our Fall 2016 release planned for 2 November 2016. And, of course, let us know if you have any questions or feedback on the release.
